Buffing Compounds

Buffing Compounds are for use when sharpening or polishing tools. The compounds are applied by using cotton wheels, sisal wheels or felt wheels. Compounds are offered in different colors to differentiate grits and also the oxide used in their formulation. Gray compounds have a coarse grit and are recommended for blending in grinding marks. White compounds are of a medium grit and are used for the final polishing process. Green compounds are chromium oxide based and are of very fine grit, they are highly recommended for the final polishing and sharpening step for cutting tools and especially very hard steels and stainless.
